KalVista Pharmaceuticals, Inc., is a global biopharmaceutical company dedicated to developing and delivering life-changing oral therapies for individuals affected by rare diseases with significant unmet needs. Our lead investigational product is sebetralstat, a novel, oral, on-demand treatment for hereditary angioedema (HAE). Sebetralstat is under regulatory review by the U.S. FDA, with a PDUFA goal date of June 17, 2025. In addition, we have completed Marketing Authorization Applications for sebetralstat to the European Medicines Agency and multiple other global regulatory authorities.

About Sebetralstat

Sebetralstat is an investigational, novel oral plasma kallikrein inhibitor for the treatment of hereditary angioedema (HAE). We have filed multiple regulatory applications seeking approval of sebetralstat as the first oral, on-demand treatment for HAE in individuals aged 12 and older and are investigating its use in children aged 2 to 11. If approved, sebetralstat has the potential to become the foundational therapy for HAE management worldwide.

About the role:

The Regional Access Manager will offer field-based reimbursement education and patient access expertise to leading HAE centers and the healthcare provider (HCP) community. This role is crucial to ensure that patients successfully initiate and maintain therapy. 

Acting as the primary contact for all reimbursement and access-related inquiries, the Regional Access Manager will collaborate with Regional Business Managers (RBMs), HCPs, specialty pharmacies, payers, patients, and our HUB vendor partner. We are seeking a candidate who is deeply committed and passionate about achieving outstanding results while delivering and advancing exceptional patient care with a specialized focus and dedication to the HAE community.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide compliant pre-approval education to designated accounts within the assigned territory
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with key partners and vendors to ensure a seamless experience for patients and healthcare professionals (HCPs)
  • Work cross-functionally with Kalvista’s internal teams to create a launch readiness plan that will support seamless access for patients and providers at launch and beyond
  • Serve as a subject matter expert to prevent and address access and reimbursement issues. This involves providing proactive education and problem-solving strategies
  • Offer pre-launch education to local and regional players
  • Provide education on affordability assistance options including copy assistance, patient assistance programs (PAP) and other alternative options
  • Provide non-medical, educational support including what to expect when initiating therapy
  • Work seamlessly and in coordination with Kalvista’s patient support services, specialty pharmacies, HUB vendor partner and other field teams to support patient access
  • Demonstrate the ability to partner cross-functionally in a matrix environment to enhance the experience of patients and providers

 

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry including Pharmaceutical/Rare Disease Sales, Access & Reimbursement, Market Access or other relevant expertise
  • 3+ years in Access and Reimbursement required
  • Experience working directly with patients strongly preferred
  • Rare disease reimbursement experience in the US required
  • Rare disease launch experience in the US preferred
  • Experience working with 3rd party HUB required
  • Innovative mindset with the ability to meet the needs of internal and external customers
  • Understand HIPAA rules and regulations related to patient privacy
  • Must display a patient-centric mentality with a high degree of emotional intelligence and empathy
  • Ability to travel 70% depending on territory
  • Previous experience working in a pre-commercial biotech company is preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
