KalVista Pharmaceuticals, Inc., is a global biopharmaceutical company dedicated to developing and delivering life-changing oral therapies for individuals affected by rare diseases with significant unmet needs. Our lead investigational product is sebetralstat, a novel, oral, on-demand treatment for hereditary angioedema (HAE). Sebetralstat is under regulatory review by the U.S. FDA. In addition, we have completed Marketing Authorization Applications for sebetralstat to the European Medicines Agency and multiple other global regulatory authorities.

About Sebetralstat

Sebetralstat is an investigational, novel oral plasma kallikrein inhibitor for the treatment of hereditary angioedema (HAE). We have filed multiple regulatory applications seeking approval of sebetralstat as the first oral, on-demand treatment for HAE in individuals aged 12 and older and are investigating its use in children aged 2 to 11. If approved, sebetralstat has the potential to become the foundational therapy for HAE management worldwide.

About the Role

KalVista Pharmaceuticals is seeking a dynamic and experienced Associate Director, Core Digital Technologies to lead and evolve our Global IT support and IT risk management operations, and help evolve our global infrastructure. Reporting to the Vice President, IT, this role will oversee day-to-day IT operations, manage service providers, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and secure IT services across our international footprint. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for a technically adept, customer-focused professional who thrives in a fast-paced biotech environment.

This role also offers the exciting opportunity to help IT build-out of KalVista’s European offices and collaborate with regional service providers to establish robust, compliant, and scalable IT environments.

Responsibilities:

Infrastructure/Operations:

  • Support global IT operations with exceptional operational capabilities to support diverse and geographically dispersed teams, ensuring consistency and reliability across all regions
  • Responsible for laptop images and asset management also inclusive of patch management strategy
  • Maintain a detailed and up-to-date CMDB (Configuration Management Database) to manage assets effectively and ensure resource availability
  • Lead comprehensive vendor management and MSP (Managed Service Provider) management efforts, ensuring effective partnerships and service delivery
  • Administer and enhance audio/visual systems, ensuring robust performance and user satisfaction
  • Teams and Zoom: Optimize and manage both platforms for effective communication and collaboration across the organization.
  • Other AV systems: Maintain and improve other audio/visual systems to support meetings, presentations, and events

Technical Support & Issue Resolution:

  • Supervise the external IT support team in addressing software, hardware, and connectivity issues with standard applications and mobile devices
  • Develop and implement robust procedures to uphold high service standards and ensure swift resolution times
  • Drive continuous improvement by analyzing performance metrics, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing continuous improvements & best practices

Microsoft Technologies Management:

  • Manage and optimize Microsoft technologies to enhance productivity and collaboration
  • Ensure smooth deployment, integration, and use of Microsoft-based solutions company-wide, including MS 365, Active Directory, SSO-MFA, Azure Cloud, Outlook-Exchange, Teams, and SharePoint
  • Teams: Ensure seamless integration and usage of Microsoft Teams for communication and teamwork

Monitoring Systems:

  • Establish and maintain advanced endpoint monitoring systems to proactively identify and resolve potential issues, safeguarding the stability and reliability of IT services
  • Security Monitoring: Partner with our security vendors for monitoring solutions to detect and respond to security threats.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years progressive experience in IT core digital technologies and global end-user support, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
  • Expertise in managing cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and hybrid infrastructure environments
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, compliance requirements and risk management
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as GxP, CSV (CRF 21 Part 11) FDA and ISO 13485
  • Proven ability to manage third-party service providers, cross-functional teams and drive complex projects to successful completion
  • Demonstrated success in leading service desk/support organizaitons and improving end-user satisfaction
  • Experience managing hybrid IT environments and driving innovation through modern technologies (e.g., cloud-narrative, automation, monitoring tools)
  • Applicable experience in biotech, pharamceutical and/or medical device industries preferred
